Forging New Paths in Second Language Acquisition

Thursday, 11 April 2019 -

The world is changing at a rapid pace. How we teach languages is also changing. Outdated, authoritarian, teacher-centred models are out. Gentler, more dynamic, student-centred approaches are in.

Officially recognised by the Ministry of Education, FAUST, in Quarteira, has been paving new inroads to more efficient language acquisition for over 20 years. Their unique and innovative approaches mean that students acquire language in a more natural, relaxing (and yes, even fun) environment.  The focus is no longer on grammar and memorisation, but on using language as an instrument to connect to others. New techniques focus not on verbs and vocabulary lists, but on students’ abilities to understand, use and produce language in a variety of forms for a variety of purposes. For FAUST language professionals, questions like, “What can my students do?” and “How do I help them grow from where they are now?” are of utmost importance.
